About Sara.
Founder and Owner of Folk Roots Restorative.
Helping people reconnect with their bodies, restore balance, and return to themselves.
Healing isn't always about fixing something that's broken. Sometimes it's about creating the space to slow down, listen, and reconnect with yourself.
That belief is at the heart of everything Sara does.
A Journey Rooted in Movement.
Sara's passion for health and wellness began long before she entered the world of holistic therapies. Growing up in Calgary with a lifelong background in sports, she developed a deep appreciation for movement, recovery, and the incredible resilience of the human body.
Her career in healthcare began in 2007 after graduating as a Registered Dental Assistant. Over the following decades, she gained extensive experience helping patients while developing a particular interest in jaw function, mobility, and the connection between physical discomfort and overall well-being.
Discovering a Different Way to Heal.
Like many of the people she now works with, Sara's path wasn't without its challenges.
Following a series of personal injuries and life experiences, she discovered yoga—not simply as exercise, but as a powerful practice of self-awareness, healing, and reconnecting with the body. That experience transformed not only how she moved, but how she understood health, recovery, and the body's remarkable capacity to heal.
It inspired her to continue her education and dedicate her career to helping others experience that same sense of restoration.
A Holistic Approach.
Today, Sara brings together therapeutic bodywork, yoga, reflexology, energy healing, and nervous system-focused care to create treatments that are as individualized as the people she works with.
Whether someone is seeking relief from chronic tension, improved mobility, support for TMJ dysfunction, or simply a quiet place to slow down, her goal is always the same—to create a safe, welcoming environment where people feel supported, heard, and cared for.
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Sara believes in looking at the whole person and helping clients return to a greater sense of balance physically, mentally, and emotionally.

"I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to slow down and listen to our bodies. Every treatment is an opportunity to create space for rest, release tension, and reconnect with ourselves. My hope is that each person leaves feeling not only better physically, but more grounded, supported, and at ease."
Sara’s Philosophy.
You'll often find Sara spending time in nature, continuing her education, exploring new approaches to holistic wellness, or enjoying quiet moments that help her stay grounded and connected to the same practices she shares with her clients.
